Striving to promote clean, renewable alternative energy production while replacing toxic, polluting nuclear power and fossil fuel waste in the state.

On January 26, 2013, a group of concerned citizens from Kalamazoo and the Lake  Michigan shoreline gathered in South Haven to discuss their shared thoughts regarding Palisades Nuclear Power Plant and its increasing list of  safety-related issues.  Many were  focused on “Shutdown before meltdown” while others were interested in working to promote and replace this energy source and other polluting fossil fuel sources (i.e. hydraulic fracturing or "fracking") with safe and renewable alternative energy production.  

Thus, Michigan Safe Energy Future (MSEF) was born with two chapters:   Kalamazoo and Shoreline.
